At Owen Wealth and Retirement Strategies we focus in providing cutting edge retirement planning solutions.

We help our clients crystalize their goals and objectives from both a personal and professional perspective. We take responsibility for getting the plan done and getting clients to act.

We use a client-centered planning process to provide customized financial planning and solutions.

Although we help a great variety of clients including single women and alternative families, the ideal client is over age 40 and married with at least one child. They typically own their home.

Mitch focuses in helping medical professionals, business owners, corporate executives and other individuals make thoughtful financial decisions especially around retirement issues. Those decisions help lead to clarity and peace of mind. Perhaps even sleep better. By focusing on the key drivers of his clients he creates plans that help meet the financial and personal objectives of his clients.

What Led Mitch to
This Business

Mitch is a graduate of Syracuse University. After a successful career in the corporate television business as a producer, writer and editor, Mitch joined New York Life in 1999. Mitch feels that with this knowledge, and the available resources through New York Life and their affiliates that he can provide comprehensive advice not available everywhere else.

Mitch’s Designations

Mitch completed his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation in 2002 and his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) designation in 2004. A CLU® is a professional designation for individuals who want to have advanced knowledge about life insurance and estate planning.

A CFP® designation means the advisor has met rigorous professional standards and has agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence when dealing with clients. The CFP® Board also requires designees to complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years to keep them current in their knowledge base of financial planning.

Mitch’s Industry

Mitch is a member of the Financial Planning Association and a Lifetime and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). MDRT is a premier association of financial professionals, and is recognized globally as the standard of excellence for life insurance sales performance in the insurance and financial services industry.

Fun Facts About Mitch

What does he do outside
of work?

I love to learn and keep my creativity flowing, so most of what I do after work feeds those goals. My family and I love to hike and be in nature, so we travel most recently to National Parks to enjoy the beauty and serenity of these treasures. I take photographs while I travel (see the ones on the website). A few years ago, I took up the guitar and play in my church choir, I love live music and attend several concerts a year and finally I try to always be reading a new book.

What’s the best vacation
he’s ever taken?

That’s a tough call, but I would have to say our visit to Glacier National Park tops the list. It was beautiful, and watching my kids slide down snow covered peaks on their backs in August was so much fun.

What’s his all-time
favorite book?

Charley and The Chocolate Family. I read it so many times as a kid. I think it may have colored my sense of humor a bit too much.

Scott Ratajczak

Scott joined Owen Wealth & Retirement Strategies in 2018 and shares Mitch’s focus in helping medical professionals, business owners, corporate executives, and other individuals make thoughtful financial decisions. Previously, he enjoyed a successful 14-year career in the financial services industry, performing in multiple roles including operations associate, client relationship manager, and executive assistant. His prior service in both the enlisted and officer ranks of the U.S. Army has given him the ability to work effectively under pressure and find unique solutions to challenging situations, all while maintaining excellent communication and attention to detail. Scott was born and raised in New Jersey, graduated from Rutgers University. Additionally, he holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 66, and 99 licenses, is licensed as a life insurance, health insurance, and variable products producer.
